Practice abbreviated to 1 hour for everyone so we can all celebrate this momentous occasion. Major congrats to Coach Jason and the 18-1s. 18-2s and 16-1s also make it to their respective D1 gold division playoffs. 16-2s get 2nd in U16 D2 Silver Division playoffs, and 15-1s get 2nd in U16 D1 Silver Division. Congrats to all our teams who partcipated in the Spring Classic.

Pool Play:
a. Warm up, 5-5 team's first match only, thereafter 4-4, serving times included. Games are 2/2, 25-25, cap at 27.
b. Start times are approximate and matches will be moved up if they finish early.
c. Officiating coaches will call for team captains immediately following each match to start the warm ups.
d. After pool play, the top two teams in each pool play in a single-elimination championship bracket, the bottom two teams in a single-elimination consolation bracket.
Playoff:
a. Starts immediately following pool play.
b. Warm up 4-4, serving times included. Games are best 2/3, 25-25-15, no cap, play the third game only if deciding.
Breaking Ties: There will be no playoff matches to break ties. Tiebreaks will be determined as follows:
1. Two-way tie (in game w/l record) -- Result of head to head match. First by games then by score (+/- differential). If still tied, then overall + points in pool. If still tied, coin flip.
2. Three-way tie (in game w/l record) -- First place is best overall point differential in the matches involving the 3 teams. To break the remaining two-way tie, see #1 above.

Except where indicated, these practices are at Spanaway Lake HS at 1305 168th St. E., Spanaway, WA 98387. 18-1s also practice at Auburn-Riverside HS, therefore those players will get their practice schedule from coach Jason. The younger age groups normally practice during the first session, followed by the older age groups. The following court assignments apply as always.

Court 3 (Far court, Main Gym), 1st session, 13s & 14-1s
Court 1 (Near court, Main Gym) - 1st session, 14-2s
Court 2 (Middle court, Main Gym) - Open for half/1/4 court drills
Court 4 - (Back Gym) 2nd session, 15-1s & 15-2s
Court 3 - (Far court, Main Gym) 2nd session, 16-1s & 16-2s
Court 1 (Near court, Main Gym) - 2nd session, 18-1s & 18-2s
Any changes to this schedule will be noted in red. Please check here frequently to get the latest changes/updates. Although most of these dates are firm, last minute changes can occur. It is very important that you check here on a regular basis.
The mandatory rules clinic is now confirmed for Saturday 7 Jan 2006. This is a very critical clinic and all players and coaches must attend. At each tournament, every team will serve as an officiating team at least once. Therefore, every player must learn how to R1, R2, keep score, track the libero, and line-judge. Every player must also purchase bring to every tournament a whistle. Except for the 18s and possibly the 16-1s, coaches usually must R1 their officiating matches. This clinic will review the rules, the latest rule changes, and provide instructions on how to serve in various capacities as the officiating team.

The following three practices, 27-29 Dec, are mostly for the teams going to Longview this week. However, I've scheduled practice times for the younger teams too, but only if their coaches are available.
I know it is the holidays, but these practices are only 1 1/2 to 2 hours long and for the older players, this is our last big push before Longview. Instead of going to the mall and wasting your money, or getting bored at home, get yourselves to practice.
